The L.A. Times is reporting
that Kent Twitchell's Monument
to Ed Ruscha
at Hill and Olympic has been painted over
To make it worse, the building housed a federal Jobs Corp program run by the U.S. Department of Labor! The contractor who did the work
apparently isn't talking, and Twitchell is planning a lawsuit. But it's probably too late. The story quotes Nathan Zakheim
as saying the work is "unrecoverable"
, despite a federal law
specifically designed to protect these works of art!
