Tom Scocca has a piece in the New York Observer about the liar James Frey, and attempts by his publisher, Larry King and Oprah Winfrey to justify his falsehoods. The "it feels like the truth" argument seems to be the justification used by folks, as if there's no difference between perception and reality. Scocca goes on to suggest that this truthiness may be part of the larger culture of lies embraced by the White House and others.
It seems Stephen Baldwin, the youngest and least successful of the Baldwin clan of actors, has turned into a born again fanatic, seeking to impose his religion on others who don't agree with the dogma. His latest effort involves photographing customers and workers at an adult entertainment business near his home. He's reportedly threatening to publish the photos, which also include vehicle licence plates, if the business doesn't shut down.
It seems the Golden Globes doesn't have a problem serving up Chilean Sea Bass, a species of fish which has been reported as threatened. Why, when there are so many other tasty options? Well, this is Hollywood, darling, and it has nothing to do with taste.
KCRW's superstar DJ, Chris Douridas was reportedly arrested on January 6 in an incident at the Circle Bar involving alcohol, roofies, and a 14 year old girl who had to be taken to a local hospital. He was released after posting $1,000,000 bail.
