After KTLA dissed Stephanie Edwards last year, it seems she has "chosen not to participate" at this year's Rose Parade. Too bad they didn't dump the old man instead.
The Los Angeles Times is reporting that an unidentified 56-year-old woman inadvertently sent a baby through an X-ray machine at LAX last Saturday. The baby was taken to a nearby hospital and found to be okay, with doctors saying he had not received a dangerous dose of radiation. The woman and child were later allowed to board a flight to Mexico City.
"Rather than focus on the radiation dose, which is a small amount, we need to focus on why this happened, so it doesn't happen again," said Dr. James Borgstede, a diagnostic radiologist at Penrose-St. Francis Health Systems in Colorado Springs, Colo., and president of the American College of Radiology. "Human beings weren't meant to go through those things."
Astronaut Suni Williams is currently orbiting the Earth while aboard the International Space Station. Her NASA profile indicates she was reluctant to attend the Naval Academy because it meant she'd have to cut her long hair. But anxiety over attending school in New York was more powerful than short locks, so off to Annapolis she went.
A lawyer for the troubled Santa Barbara News-Press has told businesses in that city that they are defaming the paper's owner by displaying a sign which reads "McCaw Obey The Law". Some folks have reportedly replaced the sign with the lawyer's letter. In the meantime, the paper is suing the author of an article at the American Journalism Review which details some of the problems at the paper.
